Let me start by saying this - you will NOT be receiving full pay at this company during training. As a young manager this can be intimidating, but I appreciated the fact that the corporate team clearly cares about the team they have in their stores. The upper corporate staff (including the CEO, investors, and other higher ups) are all very accessible and would often times stop in at our physical location and talk to the team. The company itself has good roots - from day one you feel a very real sense of cooperation and teamwork. This place could be a lot better, but there are far - more. During the school season, I recommend getting this as a side job just for a bit of extra money. Best time to apply here is in the busy seasons like summer or spring break because you’re guaranteed to get good hours. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone got seriously injured at this place because we weren’t taught safety whatsoever. You work with open wires sometimes and tools that are not regulated whatsoever. The pay here is okay and above average for Texas, but for the amount of things you end up doing, I think $13 would be a fair price compared to $11 considering you DO NOT get workers comp at all!! You don’t get benefits whatsoever so I hope people know that going in. However, the entire culture here is very “family” like and everyone tends to become best friends which is extremely uncomfortable because that leads to drama and people getting too close which disrupts the work. When a problem arises, they’re quick to fix it. The management is above average in the sense that they’re great people who genuinely care about the mental health of others. If you’re an introvert and don’t enjoy being around a loud and always busy environment for most of the year, you will hate this place. For someone who needs a side job or a first job, this place is perfect because it’s not a hard job at all if you love to be extroverted and talk with customers and can memorize things easily. After had working here long enough to completely understand the culture and job, I have changed my opinion of this place from when I first was working here.
